In case you don’t have time to get through the whole thing, here are some of the top trends from this year’s report.

  • US ad spending by the Top 200 grew 3.6% YoY to $163B, with 45 marketers spending $1B or more.
  • Digital media accounted for 46% of total spending from the Top 200. In fact they collectively spent 58% more on Digital than Television.
  • Tech and .Com companies are leading the growth of ad spending. Netlflix (#44) grew its US ad spending 70% YoY to $1B,  Uber (#67) grew by 325% to $701M, and Facebook “just” grew by 35% to $475M.
  • When it comes to individual brand-level spending Insurance, Telco, Auto and Tech dominated the Top 10. Here are the top brands ranked by ad spending.  Interestingly no beers or sodas made the Top 10.
