ESPN 8 “The Ocho” Lives On!
For all you Dodgeball fanatics out there August 8th (get the 8/8 reference?) will be like Christmas coming early again this year. Because that’s the date ESPN is turning its regular programming on ESPN 2 over to the not-so-fictional ESPN 8 “The Ocho”. Not since Cotton McNight and Pepper Brooks took to the play-by-play booth has there been so much excitement on sports television!
So this isn’t a joke. For the second year in a row ESPN is devoting as full day of programming to “the coverage of sports that are seldom seen”. This year they even have a sponsor, KFC, who’s bravely offering the Colonel up as the brand face of this year’s Ocho takeover.
What sort of sporting events can we expect to see next Wednesday? Traditionalists might enjoy the Cornhole Pro Invitational at 5:00a or the Fenway Hurling Classic (think of a weird Boston version of cricket) at 8:00a. I’ve already circled the light saber dueling event called Saber Legion 2018 at 2:00p as the must-watch of the whole day.
In case you’re interested, here’s full lineup of programming on The Ocho for August 8th. See you on the couch for this one!
