Apple Music Goes Retro With Web Functionality
Just about every mainstream digital publisher you know started as a website and then eventually moved into mobile. That’s especially true with digital audio pubs like Pandora, Spotify, etc.. So would it surprise you to learn that up until now Apple Music has only been available as a mobile platform and is just now getting around to launching a web version of the service?
According to industry reports Apple Music has started a web beta. Listeners will still need to sign up for an account through the mobile side, and then can access the web version which will include the normal Library, Search, and Browse functionalities. Apple eventually plans to make the web side fully equivalent to mobile, and is prepping a general availability rollout by early 2020.
I guess what’s old really can become new again.
